Nigel’s been in the MSP space since 2002—back when “MSP” wasn’t even a term. Starting as a technician in an ad-hoc support company, he worked his way up to general manager before waking up one Monday morning in 2008 and realizing he had inherited a pile of clients and his very own MSP.
Fast forward to 2016—he sold his business successfully and now runs The Tech Tribe, a global online community for MSPs. It’s part training, part coaching, part community—but all focused on helping MSPs grow with less stress.
The Burnout Nobody Talks About
Running an MSP isn’t all smooth sailing—and Nigel doesn’t sugarcoat it.
“One of my clients recently reached out saying he was about to pack it all in. I’ve been there myself. Sometimes you’re in a dip, and sometimes... maybe it is time for a change. My role is to help you figure that out.”

Nigel’s journey toward a systems-driven MSP started with desperation.
“My wife and I were both working 70–90 hour weeks. She was pregnant. We thought, ‘How are we going to start a family like this?’ That forced us to double down on getting things out of our heads and into SOPs.”
It wasn’t perfect at first—but those systems became the foundation that let him run his MSP three hours away from the office, just two days a week.
